ADMISSION


College Scholarship and Study Grant


1. ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

Upon admission to the College, valedictorians and    salutatorians from duly recognized public and private secondary schools in the country with proper certification from the principal shall be awarded this honorific scholarship.

Valedictorian of a public or recognized private secondary school shall be entitled to a free tuition fee for two (2) consecutive semesters. 

Salutatorian of a public or a recognized private secondary school shall enjoy a discount of fifty percent (50%) on tuition fee for two (2) consecutive semesters.

Applicants with an average of 85 or better in their High School card shall enjoy a fifteen percent (15%) discount on tuition fee. (for one semester only)

High School graduates who finished their first year to fourth year at DYCI shall enjoy the 40% alumni discount on tuition fee only provided that they maintain an average grade of at least 2.5 every semester from 1st year to fourth year college with no grade lower than “3”.

High School transferees of DYCI with at least two years of residency shall be entitled to 25% alumni discounts in college provided that they maintain an average grade of at least 2.5 every semester from 1st year to fourth year college with no grade lower than “3”.

 

Scholarship grants to High School graduates of DYCI will be forfeited if they transfer to another school even for one (1) semester only.

 

2. COLLEGE ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

College Academic Scholarship can be availed of on the subsequent semester, after a year of residency at DYCI, provided that the student satisfies the conditions for such scholarship enumerated in the following:

  1. Full Scholarship. A student who enrolled with normal academic loads and who obtained at the end of the semester a weighted average computed based on all the semesters of stay in DYCI an average of 1.50 or better without any grade lower than 2.00 (minimum grade requirement per subject includes previous grades from other schools if transferee) shall be awarded full academic scholarship or shall be entitled to one hundred percent (100 %) free tuition.
  2. Partial Scholarship. A student who enrolled with normal academic loads and who obtained at the end of the semester a weighted average computed based on all the semesters of stay in DYCI an average of 1.75 or better without any grade lower than 2.25 (minimum grade requirement per subject includes previous grades from other schools if transferee)   shall be awarded partial academic scholarship or shall be entitled to fifty percent (50%) free tuition.

 

2.1 Conditions for College Academic  Scholarship

  1. There shall be a minimum of one (1) full or two (2) partial scholars per College.  Additional scholars shall be based on one (1) full or two (2) partial scholars for every 100 enrollment.
  2. An applicant must at least have a one year residency at DYCI. Qualification of scholars will be computed based on the weighted average grade of all the semesters of stay at DYCI.
  3. A time of scholarship application at the end each semester shall be set by the Student Personnel Services Office wherein all applicants must submit all the required papers duly endorsed by their respective Deans for screening.
  4. The applicant for College Academic Scholarship must carry the normal load (required subjects to enroll based on the respective course curriculum checklist) prescribed during the semester and must not have any rating of “Incomplete” or “Dropped”.
  5. There will only be one scholarship at a time. If a student is entitled to two or more scholarships (e.g. Partial Scholarship and Alumni Scholarship), he/she shall be required to choose only one.
  6. Scholarship application requirements (Letter of application with duly certified grades and endorsement of the Dean) must be submitted to the Student Personnel Services Office to be further endorsed to the Registrar for approval or disapproval.

 

3. STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Student Assistance Program of  Dr. Yanga’s Colleges, Inc. aims to provide  educational  assistance to financially needy but deserving students who would like to work and study at Dr. Yanga’s Colleges, Inc.

For applicants, the following preliminary requirements and conditions must be satisfied in order to qualify:

 

3.1 Incoming First Year College

3.1.1 Preliminary Requirements

  • Letter of application 
  • Copy of Form 1-38 (HS Card). Average Grade must be at least 80 with no failing grade.
  • Certification of Good Moral Character
  • Proof of financial status such as Income Tax  Return

3.1.2 College Admission Test

3.1.3 Home visitation (As the need arises)

3.1.4 Interview with the SPSO Director of parent and student applicant

3.1.5 Recommendation of previous adviser

3.1.6 Interview with the Unit Head (If many qualify for a given slot, the unit head will decide who will be chosen.)

 

3.2 College Applicants (Old Students)

3.2.1 Requirements

  • Letter of application
  • Copy of grades duly certified by the dean. The average grade must be at least 2.50 with grades not lower than 2.50 and with no Incomplete (INC) rating or dropped subjects

3.2.2 The student must not have any previous disciplinary record.

3.2.3 Home visitation (As the need arises).

3.2.4 Interview with the SPSO Director of parent and applicant

3.2.5 Proof of financial status such as Income Tax Return

3.2.6 Interview with the Unit Head (If many qualify for a given slot, the unit head will decide who will be chosen.)

 

Note: All requirements must be submitted to the Student Personnel Services Office (SPSO) during the end of the second semester each year. Since the admission of Student Assistants will depend on the availability of slots, the other qualified applicants who will not get a slot will be placed in the waiting list and shall be called again for interview whenever a unit requests for an additional or a new student assistant.

 

4. CULTURAL AND ATHLETICS SCHOLARHIP

The Cultural and Athletics Scholarship is a one-time scholarship given to students who qualify as varsity players and cultural contestants for the inter-school competitions (e.g. Bulacan Private Schools Associations – BULPRISA Competitions).  Discounts on tuition fee will be applicable in the succeeding semester after the provincial/regional/national competition.

Corresponding discounts which range from 10%-70% free tuition fee are granted depending on the highest awards received.

The Cultural and Athletics Scholarship Certificates are awarded by the SPSO.

 

5. SIBLING DISCOUNT

This is given to two or more siblings who study in DYCI at the same school year.  Two siblings entitles the younger sibling to a 20% discount on tuition fee , three or more siblings entitles the youngest to a 30% discount on tuition fee  or  the percent discount may be divided among the  three siblings (e.g. 10% discount each).

To avail of the said discount the siblings are requested to submit a photocopy of their birth certificates at the College Accounting Office.

 

6. SAFE  LOAN  PROGRAM 

These are loan grants which shall be granted without interest to bonafide DYCIan students for tuition fee purposes. Qualified loan grantees can borrow as much as eight thousand pesos Php 8,000.00. Preliminary requirements include a 2X2 picture, Copy of Certificate of Matriculation (COM), letter of application and summary of grades during the previous semester. Other documents might be asked from the applicant as the need arises. Application form is available at the SPSO.

 

7. ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES EDUCATIONAL BENEFIT SYSTEM

DYCI has committed to provide two slots (free tuition fee) each year to Bulakeño dependents of military personnel who were killed in action. All qualified applicants who are interested to avail of the program should submit documentary requirements at the AFP Educational Benefit System, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Q. C. (www.afpbso.org.p)
