Research that starts in the classroom and reaches the community.

From Grade 7 science fairs to internationally published nursing studies, DYCIans ask real questions, test real solutions, and share what they find with the world.

Who
We Are.

Research at Dr. Yanga's Colleges, Inc. runs on three connected units. CREDO sets the direction for research across the whole institution. SCIRE builds science and research culture in Junior and Senior High School. SIBOL, SCIRE's student science organization, puts students in charge of outreach, publications, and peer learning.

Together with DYCI's academic departments and the DYCI Sustainability Office, they make research part of every DYCIan's education, from a Grade 7 science question to a peer-reviewed publication.

Stem Innovation and Breakthroughs for Outstanding Learning

SIBOL is DYCI's official student organization dedicated to Science and Math in the world around them. Its members run BLAZE Beyond Campus outreach, Project PASS, Project PRISM, and USBONG Publications.

What We Study

Our research is organized around four thrusts aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Each one connects classroom inquiry to a real need in our community.

  1. 01

    Sustainability, Climate & Ocean Science

From flood detection in road drainage canals to marine science training abroad, we study how communities can live with, and protect, their environment.

  2. 02

    Health & Nursing Sciences

Our College of Nursing faculty publish internationally on patient care, nursing education, and maternal health.

  3. 03

    Robotics, Engineering & Applied Innovation

We design working prototypes and protect them. Our robotics researchers hold registered industrial designs for recycling devices.

  4. 04

    STEM Education & Science Literacy

We research how students learn science, and we build programs that make science accessible to every learner.
